skrwd

he/him artist

I got to talk with skrwd about his music and it was a nice time. Here goes the full conversation we had. We started me asking about what was the moment he realized music was something he wanted to try out. He responded saying, “That moment definitely was when I heard Fall Out Boy’s “From Under The Cork Tree” album in 2005. I was in seventh grade and it was the first album I purchased with my own money. Something about it just told me I should give this music thing a shot. Immediately started my band right after.” I think it’s cool that an album was an inspiration to get into music, not something I’ve always heard. After that, I asked who are some of the artists who inspire your music or some of your favorite music artists? He responded by saying “9tails/sewerperson, Paramore, Juice WRLD, New Found Glory, The Story So Far, Lil Peep, My Chemical Romance, Home Grown, and no doubt his favorite band of all time is Fall Out Boy.” We had a mini conversation about sewerperson.

I changed our conversation up by going back to the beginning and mentioning where he said he started in a band and asked him how’s the difference between being in a band and being a solo artist? He responded saying, “There aren’t many differences when you break down the business side of it and whatnot, but the biggest difference is that I’m the only one involved in the operation, which means everything is my responsibility. It also means I can do and make whatever I want to, which makes me feel way more comfortable with experimenting with different sounds. I feel like I’m able to be myself.” I said that the freedom to do whatever you want and work on sounds nice and how it leads me to my next question which was what was the writing process on his new song “swear” with skele like. He responded with, “swear was an idea I wrote last year and just forgot about. I found it in my notepad on my phone and decided to try it on some beats. I threw so many beats over it and nothing ever worked, and then I heard caspr’s beat and immediately laid the hook down. I had hung out with skele a couple of times when he first came to LA and we became buds. He asked to send an open and I knew it had to be “swear” cause it’s definitely up his alley and I knew he’d kill it. I sent it with just the hook on it and he sent me back this insane verse at 5:30 am, I woke up and wrote my verse and the rest is history. It was super fun to make and I’m really stoked people are liking it.”.

Swear is a good song and I’ve played it for even my coworkers and stated that while talking to skrwd. skrwd, skele, and caspr all did amazing on the song. The collaboration gave me a pathway to ask about anyone that he would like to collaborate with on a song. He responded with, “yung van, lil narnia, kaiyko, seejayxo, jakkyboi, yung scuff, and if possible lil aaron.” I commented on having the main goal or a nice list of artists is nice to have and how my top artists for my site are scapegoat and skele. My final question to skrwd was “do you ever go through times where maybe friends or people in life inspire you?”. His response was, “yeah definitely. My everyday life inspires everything about my music. My friends inspire me to always strive for more musically.”.
Coming to an end, the conversation with skrwd was nice. I am excited to see where he goes musically and you should be too. Thank you to skrwd for doing this with me.

TREAT ME TERRIBLE

skele (prod. nevrfall)

skele is a midwest emo adjacent artist whose music you would love especially if you are sad. All jokes aside, skele does make amazing music and this new song is one for all of you but especially ones that put themselves to blame.

now if you listen to skele, you most likely cry to every song or just feel sad except some. if you have been waiting for a new one to make you feel like that well “treat me terrible” is the song for you. the beat to it is amazing, shoutout to nevrfall for the amazing beat. before starting my writing i listened to the song twice, the first time it was to hear the song and the second time was to go back and focus more on the lyrics. when i say the lyrics of this song can hit home i mean seriously listen to them. a lyric you hear a lot in the song is “i get too emotional”, that lyric i will live by now. “treat me terrible”, does show how you could be a good person in a relationship and still put yourself to blame no matter what. i think it’s a perfect breakup song in a way that, “i still love you but you are no good for me and our relationship was my fault.” i think anyone could take this song and it might make them think of someone that was special to them once in their life.

“treat me terrible” is a phenomenal song and skele did amazing with this song. give it a listen you won’t regret it. skele is an amazing artist and i think everyone should be ready to see skele’s journey in music. thank you skele for giving me this opportunity, everyone stream “treat me terrible”.

CLEAR

he/him artist

This article is written on a 6’3, 15-year-old league player, and if that doesn’t show you how down bad he is after reading this, check out his song “2am.” Clear also has a baby ego but shit responding. All jokes aside, Clear and I had a good conversation while working on this so I hope you all enjoy what you’re about to read.

I started by asking Clear what type of music he wanted to focus on making. Clear said that he wanted to start making more electronic music. After that, I went into my usual question that I ask everyone but hear me out it’s a good conversation starter. I asked Clear what inspired you to get into music. Clear responded with, “when I started getting into the underground scene I was just seeing what my favorite artists were doing and wanted to be just like them so I started producing inspired by notmrgn/guccihighwaters when I was like 11.”

After that, I was curious as to what are some of Clear’s favorite artists that give him any inspiration are. Clear responded with, “I have a lot of inspirations, to be honest, all-time guccihighwaters, 9tails, guardin are what got me into the underground so I’ll always take inspiration from them but right now I really listen to and think I’m going in the directions of ericdoa, aldn, dltzk, and polearm. Their genres are super different but I kind of want to dip into each kind of music.” Clear’s most recent song “1year” he labeled it as hyperpop in the notes so I asked him if he saw himself doing anymore hyperpop. Clear responded with, “I don’t think I’ll make anything else in that style. I want to mostly self prod from here but I really can’t make those kinds of beats and anything I’ve written in the same style ended up being cap rap. I can’t be real with that kind of music.”

As everyone could all assume, Clear is in school. I always wonder how someone manages school and music so I took the opportunity and I asked Clear how does he try to balance school well. He responded with, “when I was doing online school I really didn’t care after a certain point so I didn’t really have to balance it at all I just focused on hobbies and video games but recently I went back to school and it looks like it’s going to be harder to balance both so I’m not sure at the moment.” Clear and I have had conversations before and I believe that in the time where I was giving up fl, Clear and I talked about how music is an escape for us. I asked Clear how far he sees himself going music-wise, acknowledging that he mentioned music to be an escape for him. Clear responded with, “I do mostly use music as a therapy and escape. It’s really nice to have somewhere to talk about what’s bothering me without having to speak to anyone specifically or just blow off some steam and have some fun by making some violent shit. I’ve started to like getting love from people and a couple of other artists but it’s not really what’s driving me right now.”

Coming to an end, Clear may be doing this for an escape right now but you should still check him out. Clear is young and I am excited to see where he continues to grow with his music. Thank you Clear for answering these questions with me.

ANIME SONG

deadman

deadman is an amazing artist and producer. you might know them for their omae wa mou (tiny little adiantum remix) that blew up. omae wa mou was released by deadman in 2017. the tiny little adiantum remix one was released in 2019. i’m here to talk about the new remix of it.

anime song (omae wa mou remix) was released may 7th. this song is made for the weebs. i mean technically it’s made for anyone but if you get me then you know what i mean. the coolest part to me is the demon slayer reference but that’s totally not because i’m a demon slayer fan. the lyrics in this is actually pretty amazing and very different from what i’ve listened to as songs with anything anime in the name. I could see this song being used on anitiktok or used in anime edits.

In conclusion, this whole song is complete fire and should definitely be checked out by like everyone. If you relate to any of these lyrics as well you might be a weeb in the making especially the hentai lyric. Check out this complete banger.

scapegoat

he/him artist

this article i am very excited to share this with y’all. it is on one of my favorite artists out there in the scene whose music never fails to amaze. i got to talk to scapegoat and here goes how the conversation went.

i started the article off with my most basic question, “what inspired you to get into music?” scapegoat responded with, “growing up I was into a lot of bands like green day, blink-182, MxPx, just that whole pop-punk scene. I just thought it was super cool the way they were on stage and I loved the music. I remember learning all their stuff on guitar and trying to reenact what they did on stage in my bedroom. I got into the SoundCloud scene pretty early, I was introduced to artists like Lil Peep, Oliver Francis, and Joji early on, they definitely still influence me today! I also had support from my friends and family which is always motivating and inspiring.” That response answered three of my original questions so I had to come up with more. I don't think people ever ask artists what their favorite songs are, so I took this opportunity to ask scapegoat what some of his songs were. He responded with, “everything off my album probably, I have so many sick memories from during the creation of that album. I feel like every song hits so hard for me in different ways, but if I were forced to choose I'd say either idc w/ kinshii or ghoul w/ skele & kinshii! I feel like those songs are packed with so much emotion and I still almost tear up listening to them.”

ghoul seems to be a favorite for many but i mean have you listened to it. it’s beautiful and an absolute sad banger. I then asked if there were any artists scapegoat would like to collaborate with. scapegoat responded with, “I’ve been wanting to collaborate with 93FEETOFSMOKE & guardin for a minute now! I also definitely want more songs with kinshii and skele. A few of my dream collabs are Jake Ewald, Nothing, Nowhere, Porter Robinson, Mac Miller, Shrimp, and the list just goes on.” i’m just saying i love mac miller and did even say that i love mac miller after reading that before i went into the next question. I feel like as someone who doesn’t do music we never think about why collabs are things that aren’t always bound to happen. I asked scapegoat if it was difficult to reach out to artists to collaborate with them. scapegoat said, “oh yeah sometimes it is intimidating but I’ve learnt over the years to just shoot my shit and if I miss I miss.” honestly completely understandable. I get nervous to message anyone over doing an article.

talking about the support my friends gave me got me to ask about where scapegoat mentioned his friends support his music. I asked if he has any music friends that he has listened to and got inspired by their music to do something. Scapegoat said, “Oh by friends I mean like my home time friends, they’re like my brothers and we all support each other! But for my friends I’ve met off music, they all inspire me heavily! It’s interesting to see all their unique creative processes and how they approach music.” I moved the conversation off friends for a bit and asked what the creative process was like for scapegoat.

before i give you the response don’t yell at me for asking this. I’m nosey and i know everyone has different creative processes okay! My creative process is staring at my computer for two hours and listening to music and then typing. i write everything freely. anyway scapegoat responded with, “for me I just let it flow I never try to force anything but it usually starts with a guitar melody and I use that as a foundation for the rest of the song.” my last question was do you see yourself wanting to tour. scapegoat responded with, “of course man 100% but covid isn't letting that happen right now, it's always been a dream to play a sold out show sometime in my life.” Honestly people please wear your masks and get the vaccine.

The whole conversation with scapegoat was awesome and I am so glad we finally got to finally find time to have the conversation when we had it. scapegoat is an amazing artist and you should all check him out. Thank you scapegoat for letting me write this on you!

franxx

scoob (prod. jason22k)

scoob does a different type of music than what I have ever written on. Scoob’s music is more post-myspace music with hyperpop influence. That doesn’t change the fact that if I was to be better at streaming music scoob would be one of my top artists. Scoob’s music never fails to impress me especially that no, the moon by teen suicide cover. I’m not here to talk about that song though, I am here to talk about Scoob’s newest song franxx.

Let me start off by saying franxx is completely amazing. When Scoob sent me this song, they said it was based on an anime. What an actual weeb Scoob is. Listening to this song, I don’t think you can tell it is based on an anime unless you have seen this anime. It is a very cute song. You might be able to sit and listen to this song and think of someone and smile. I know I did. I will personally be streaming this song every day and checking out the anime it was inspired by because wow. If you are wondering what the anime it was inspired by is called its “darling in the franxx” hence the name franxx. Before I talk about this one part I would just like to say I am not down bad. Do not think I am down bad I am very much not down bad. The lyric, “yearning just for your touch”, this is probably my favorite lyric to hear.

Honestly, Scoob did amazing with this song. It’s cute and awesome. It’s a complete banger and you should all check it out for sure. Thank you Scoob for letting me write on it.

love jai

he/him artist

Before I get into any serious talk on this article let me just say. This is my favorite one I was able to do so far. Jai and I got very off track while doing this. I’m not complaining though, I like when I get to have very casual conversations with people while doing this. Our conversation was so chill and awesome. Which is great because Jai is a very chill and awesome dude.

When I usually reach out to artists, I dm them and say some stupid line like, “hey my name is hal and i write articles, i was wondering if i could write one on you?” It really makes me nervous though and I hate having to make the first message. I decided with Jai’s article, I would do a tweet and Jai quoted the tweet saying yes. Such a cool moment honestly, I was at work when I saw Jai reply so we did have to wait until I got off to actually have any conversations. Now I will say, I did keep it basic with the very first question. I asked my usual, “what inspired you to get into music?” Jai had said that when he was always into music as a kid but around 8 or 10ish his aunt got him a composition notebook that he would write bullsh*t lyrics in. The two things that really got him into music though was when he was in 5th grade he was really influenced by camp rock. He watched it so much that his mom had to buy the dvd. It made him want to sing and be a rockstar.

Jai’s second influence is Mac Miller. Jai heard Mac Miller in 9th grade and it made him know he had to rap. Mac gave Jai hope. Now, I’ll be honest this is where we first got side tracked because if you know me… you know I adore Mac Miller. I mentioned how Mac is what got me back into writing after I lost my writing ways. Jai expressed how it’s sad he won’t get a song with him unless there is a song with a hidden open he could get when he is on. We got into a little conversation over how it’s sad that people actually want things like that probably can’t get it due to clout chasers. I had mentioned how I listen to him while writing because I will never get to write on him but he was my inspiration for writing and if I am to continue going where I am going with this site then aldn is my goal artist. Jai mentioned how he wanted a song with aldn.. manifesting for both of us. I moved on and asked Jai about any future collabs he wanted! Jai listed off that for mainstream he would definitely want to work with Post Malone, keshi, future, drippin so pretty and shrimp. Jai then said for underground/kinda mainstream he wanted aldn, caspr, avit, nomu, SKAR, and numl6ck for sure.

The next question I asked Jai was did Jai have a certain genre he likes to put his music under. I’m just saying if you’ve listened to Jai you know why I asked this. Jai responded that he didn’t know. He made his own genre and he makes literally everything. Somedays Jai wants to sing, some he wants to rap and others he wants to do digital. Jai calls it the different different and I call it the Jai vibe. I truly don’t see why artists have to label their genre. I mean look at Taylor Swift, she started with country and now she is a famous pop singer. Jai made a comment about being worried about switching genres because some people might only like one type of genre. Somehow, our conversation led into collectives. If you didn’t know Jai is in a collective called lostboyz. Jai said he was lucky to be in lbz so shout out to them. I then asked Jai about favorite songs of his and this is where things just became great. Jai responded with how a few of them were unreleased but blame which comes out may 30th, ihtwsfm lol, and everyday i runaway are in his top 5. I’m not gonna flex and say I heard blame but y’all should be ready for that complete banger on may 30th.

I will not talk about everything we talked about that got us side tracked after that but Jai now has an emote in my discord server and is in there as well as the fact we talked about my writing. When we finally got back on track I asked Jai what his creative process was like and let me just say Jai is the rock in the making. Jai said he does 50 pushups and chants until he feels peak energy. See it’s a young Dwayne Johnson in the making. All jokes aside, Jai’s creative process is searching for a beat that catches his heart or ears and then he just goes. My last question to Jai was, when getting a beat from a producer do they question what you are going to do with that beat. I didn’t know if it made sense but Jai understood and said, “producers really don’t care unless you are big. It’s rare to find producers that genuinely like you and want to work with you, I only know a handful.”

Coming to an end on this, Jai is a really swag dude. You should all check him out if you haven’t. Even though this man likes Taco Bell, I’ll vouch him on being pretty epic. Thank you Jai for letting me write this on you!

cloud cabin

This article is actually different from other articles I've written. This article is on the collective Cloud Cabin. If you don’t know what a collective is, well it’s a group of artists that are together and they work together with music. They can release tracks together and they do promote each other's music as well. Cloud Cabin was not always called Cloud Cabin. It first started off as Dreamstation in January and then in February it rebranded to Cloud Cabin. The story behind the start of Cloud Cabin was it started out as a group chat but then Blu, ichorus and Claude all knew each other for a while and talked about starting the collective. After they rebranded to Cloud Cabin they dropped their very first exclusive soon after. I messaged a few of the Cloud Cabin members and they gave some of the loveliest responses ever besides the request to say deez chungus somewhere in here.

The first one I messaged about the time they have had in Cloud Cabin was Scoobert seeing that I know Scoob. Scoob said that their time in Cloud Cabin has been a lot of fun. Everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and it’s really fun to sit in discord and just talk about things or work on music together passing ideas back and forth to each other. Scoob said that they all support what each other do and most importantly enjoy each other's company. In Cloud Cabin they are friends first, a collective second. The next response comes from Dylan who said, “so far I'm quite enjoying it. I love that Cloud Cabin feels more like a friend group than a collective. When we aren’t grinding tracks we like to chill in discord calls and play some games or talk about life which is nice. They also give great tips and feedback, I can feel like my progress throughout the time I have been a member.”

Taking a little break from the wholesomeness, to talk about some of the jokes the lovely members sent. The first one I got that made me just laugh was when soph said, “they do make me want to blow my brains out with a 12 gauge but like in the best possible way” because honestly if you aren’t feeling like this with your friends, are you really friends? Viera told me that cloud cabin was an absolutely terrible and cherryrizla is on the run for multiple counts of treason. Cherryrizla said that cloud cabin is very friendly and she doesn’t commit treason but maybe a little tax fraud. Honestly nothing wrong with a little tax evasion! Somehow, it ended up where cloud cabin is cloud cartel and commits tax fraud. Honestly, you just gotta respect the hustle.

Every member I talked to gave such wholesome responses honestly. My favorite ones are from Jacksen and oni boy. Jacksen said that right off the bat they felt super welcomed! Everyone is super nice and goes out of their way to make sure you are vibing instead of just letting you feel uncomfortable. Everyone loves to work on music but also knows when to kick back and chill, mainly though Cloud Cabin spends most of their time in calls making music. Jacksen also said they loved Cloud Cabin! oni boy I would say I was shocked with his response because someone told me he was out of pocket on twitter. oni boy said, “I’ve known them all for about a year now, everyone has become like family to me man. Everyone’s cool, just all coming up as a unit. Most of us have been in Cloud Cabin since the formation so we’re all mad close and we are just collabing smoothly without problems. The founders are all bros, they all support me and help me get bigger. They have been with me since I started coming into my sound in 2020 so they’ve been a big help.”

All jokes aside now, every member I talked to said amazing and wholesome things about cloud cabin. I have more messages from more members that weren’t included in here because they are about what you have already read. I can tell you though they are like a supportive internet family who loves each other and wants to see each other thrive and that is beautiful. I can’t wait to see where they grow as a collective because this is just a start. I know they will have a lot in their future and you should know it as well. I’ve never seen such a supportive and loving connection happen between people and I’m glad it’s cloud cabin I got to learn about. Thank you cloud cabin for letting me write on y’all, keep doing wonderful!

sendflowrs

sendflowrs is an artist whose music never fails to amaze me. I’ll be honest when sendflowrs responded back saying yes to the article I was very shocked. now if you have read my articles you know what question this will start with. if you haven’t well let me just say I have a basic starting question so that I can free-throw questions after that one. sendflowrs gave me some of the best responses ever and was so chill. I guess there isn’t much more to say besides here goes the lovely conversation I and sendflowrs got to have.

My starting question to sendflowrs was “what inspired you to get into music?” sendflowrs responded with, “ originally it was bands like basement, the story so far, neck deep, title fight, and more that pushed me towards writing and playing music in bands, but none of those really went anywhere, then eventually I thought ‘well, nobody wants to start a band with me so I guess I’ll do this sound cloud thing’ bought a MacBook and never looked back!” such a cool thing to do honestly. Before I got into the next question I did tell sendflowrs how mac miller is my inspiration and I feel like a lot of people in the scene are inspired by music artists. I know that outside of music artists some people might have people that support them. I never know if it’s an appropriate question to ask so I do include that if it’s too personal that it can be skipped. sendflowrs responded with, “my biggest fans are my girlfriend & my younger sister, they’ve been listening since the beginning and always tell me how much they love the stuff, even my grandma listens to every new drop haha, so yeah I can say I’m very fortunate that all of my friends and family support the music and are constantly asking how it’s going, etc. I’ll never complain about never getting any love, from the moment I started my SoundCloud account people have been really lovely, even some of the people I went school with that I never speak to these days drop me a message from time to time when they see me on their Spotify front page and stuff, it’s cool.” It's so cool that partners are supportive of their partners' work these days. Honestly, if your partner isn’t supportive then get a new one.

The next question I asked was, “do you have a set goal for your music like where you would like to get music-wise?” sendflowrs responded with I think the best answer to this. I’m gonna break it down for you. sendflowrs want to be able to live off their music comfortably. sendflowrs isn’t a “work” person which is understandable. There is no reason to truly stay at a job if you aren’t doing what you want to do. I personally would quit my job in a heartbeat if I was making a living off of working at a site for music articles like these. sendflowrs was so nice and said it was nice to hear I had plans for my site.

I mentioned to sendflowrs how they have done songs with skele and other artists did they have any future collaborations they would love to get on. sendflowrs did give skele a shoutout. I kid you not they said, “I love that lil guy, he’s really helped me a lot and put certain people onto me that wouldn’t have known me otherwise, especially with biteki and stuff.”. sendflowrs also listed off that for future collaborations they would love to work with lieu & wubz. lieu and wubz are two of sendflowrs main inspirations these days. sendflowrs also said they would like to work with brakence but they feel like that is a bit of a pipe dream.

Communication is a big thing these days. You can’t complain about not getting out there if you don’t communicate with anyone and don’t ever try to. I personally look up to Cole Bennett for the way the man has got through the underground to now. The next question I asked sendflowrs was do you find it difficult to reach out to other artists. sendflowrs responded with, “I definitely did at first, but as time goes on you gain confidence in your scene, I remember the first huge confidence boost I got, was when steadysuffer, who is one of the main people that got me into making the kinda music I did back then, followed and dm’d me telling me he liked the music, and honestly since then I’ve just got more and more confident, it’s hard to explain, but I really feel like as an artist, talking to another artist is usually easy enough because you both have something in common straight the way.” I personally love this response, I used to struggle to find myself to message artists, now I am slowly where I can do it. The last question I asked sendflowrs was, “do you have any dream places to do a show at in the future?” sendflowrs said a show anywhere honestly but it would be sick if it could be in LA and a show with friends. That’s where sendflowrs wants to get to this year.

Putting an end to this article, sendflowrs is someone I’m excited to see the journey of. sendflowrs has amazing music and it won’t disappoint you. sendflowrs is a chill person and you should all check them out and follow their journey. Thank you sendflowrs for letting me write on you.

ghostsocial

Ghostsocial is an 18-year-old artist who if you aren’t listening to yet. You should. They have released complete bangers one after one and they are a chill person. This article gives you more into their music and who they are as an artist. The conversation was very lovely and I enjoyed it. So sit back and relax while you get to enjoy ghostsocial: the article of them.

When I do artist articles I ask the same question to start with. I even tell these artists that I ask everyone this same question. Honestly, it’s a good question. “What inspired you to get into music?” Artists always have the same answers its usually growing up around loving music or something but it’s the artists that inspired them that make me think wow. Ghostsocial when they got this question actually touched on what inspired them more than who inspired them. Ghostsocial’s response was, “when I was younger, like ten or so, I wanted to be a writer and I’d write like a lot of poetry, songs, and short stories. I got an iPod touch when I was like twelve and I’d mess around on GarageBand with loops and stuff, just making basic beats. I actually got into making like vocal stuff closer to 2017, I figured out how to get fl studio 12 on my mom’s computer and I just went from there.” Honestly, I have never thought about the fact that music artists do like to write. It’s so cool hearing that someone wanted to be a writer when they were younger because honestly, that has always been my dream job. I did go on after that and ask if there were any music artists who inspire ghostsocial’s music. Ghostsocial responded with, “from the underground specifically like peep, x, fats’e, guardin, convolk, and shinigami all had a larger influence on my sound earlier on. All the talent from the hyperpop/digicore scene as a whole has motivated me to take a new different approach to my music and try new things, but Quinn stands out to me. Her sound helped shaped this scene and she’s inspired me.

That was the first time I had ever heard someone ever mention hyperpop as any type of inspiration. That’s also the first time someone didn’t list a ton of mainstream artists as the ones that inspire their music a lot of underground artists still or ones from the underground. I will say that I am not the person to come to when you ask me what type of genre or what scene someone is in. I like to sometimes ask people what they put themselves under. I asked ghostsocial if there was a certain scene they would put themselves. Ghostsocial said, “I honestly don’t know if I fit into a specific scene. Some of the songs I make are hyperpop influenced, and I’m around a lot of artists in that scene but I’m not in like any popular collectives or clouted friend groups. Me and my friends just kind of do our own thing.” That’s understandable, I think there is a nice amount of people that just do their own thing at this point. I say I do my own thing because me and my music friends yeah, most of them are in my server but we don’t have a group chat because I talk to them all personally.

I asked ghostsocial about their creative process and what it was like? Ghostsocial said, “honestly I usually get my beats from my friend plxce, like he’ll send me a beat on discord, I’ll drop it in fl studio, then I record and think of lyrics as I go. Most of my lyrics aren’t written down as much I just have a certain emotion or general mood I’m going for then I work as I go. My biggest song is rest, and I recorded and mixed it in about 30 minutes.” Honestly, a creative process where you just let it come to you is amazing.

After the creative process, I did ask them if they hope to do music as their career or was it just for now and have a career in something later. Ghostsocial responded with, “a goal of mine is to be able to support myself one day off of music. it’s hard sometimes balancing my job and regularly working on music, so getting to a point where I can solely focus on just music would be ideal. making music is my biggest passion, and I honestly can’t think of anything else I’d rather do.” If you didn’t know ghostsocial is the founder of a collective called ghostworld. I asked them if they were to see ghostworld growing or if it was going to stay with the same members. Ghostsocial’s response was, “I think it really depends. right now ghostworld consists of me, aloneinparis, plxce, sinna, cboy1, and dylan longworth. Right now we’re all trying to grow separately. Along with growing ghostworld, but both of those things kind of go hand in hand. I can definitely see it becoming a larger collective, but as of right now it’s just a group of friends making music.” It’s nice that they have a focus and it’s the same thing.

I went into starting the final questions of the article talk with what dream collaborations does ghostsocial have. Ghostsocial responded with, “shinigami, quinn, glaive, guardin, and cavetown are all artists that I’d love to work with if I was ever able to. There are so many artists that I want to work with though, I could probably write about four paragraphs of names it’s crazy. production-wise like dylan brady, benny blanco, blackwinterwells, and the living tombstone would all be crazy to work with.” I have never had someone really list off artists and producers but ghostsocial has such a nice list of both. I mentioned how ghostsocial had said they never see themselves doing anything else as music-making is their passion so if they were to do live shows what would their dream set up for it be. ghostsocial responded with, “I’ve done a couple of shows, and I did one pretty recently in my city. a dream set up for me would be to do a show with a bunch of my friends and with everyone in ghostworld. it'd be cool to perform the songs I’ve made with like dylan, rouri404, and everyone else in person.” the final question I asked was did they have a dream city or venue they would like to perform in. they responded back with, “doing a show in LA would be fire, I’ve been wanting to visit there.”

Coming to an end, ghostsocial is an amazing artist. I am glad to see them and their journey. I hope you all are interested in them and their journey. Their sound is magnificent and you should definitely check them out. They have a passion for music and are dedicated to the game. Thank you ghostsocial for letting me write on you!

scoob

This article is actually on someone I have done a song article on. This article is on Scoob. The first time I ever did a scoob article was on their song “franxx.” This article is more in-depth on scoob, themself as an artist. Before I get into this article, I have to give a shoutout to oni boy because Scoob told me to do so.

As usual, I started my talk with Scoob by asking, what inspired them to get into music? Scoob responded with, “it was a pipeline of events for them. It started back in 8th grade when they got into 90s grunge. Scoob learned to nearly play every Nirvana song and at that point, they realized they wanted to be in a band or something. Freshman year, they got into Lil Peep and watched all his early interviews. Scoob got into GarageBand after hearing how Peep worked in GarageBand to start. Scoob recorded guitar rap for like half a year until he discovered more of the underground like shinigami and yungjza, which inspired them to explore a more digital/cutesy sound.” I have heard a few artists say Garageband is where they started at and I think it’s so cool!

Since Scoob is still in high school I was curious as to if this was a career path for them or do they see themself doing something else? Scoob said, “I would honestly love to be able to have music as my future career but I’ll keep making music regardless of how the future is because it’s pretty much all I know at this point. If music doesn’t work out I’m going to be an English teacher.” Wanting to be an English teacher is such a based career. I respect all the artists on here and care about all of them. Even if my first time ever talking to them is for an article or even if they are a friend of mine’s like Scoob I always want them to feel comfortable and respected when conversating with me. Before I ask anyone this question, I always tell them that if they are uncomfortable with answering it then they don’t have to answer. The question I am talking about is when I ask them if they have a good supportive family and supportive friends when it comes to their music?

Scoob gave me an answer to that. Before I hop into the full answer of it all, shoutout to Scoob’s mom you’re amazing! Okay now with Scoob’s response which was, “My family is supportive for the most part. My mom follows me on Twitter and always listens when I drop something. My dad sometimes streams my music and has been super cool about it. Some of my irls know I make music, it’s not something I hide but I don’t constantly bring it up.” Scoob doesn’t know how many of them listen to them but they always hear them gushing about cool music things that happen so they imagine they support them.

Scoob is in a collective called Cloud Cabin. I don’t know how one joins a collective so I took this opportunity to ask Scoob how they were brought into Cloud Cabin. Scoob was brought into Cloud Cabin because Trav invited him to the discord server. they had known a few of the members already namely ichorus and decks. After Trav introduced Scoob to everyone in the server they just chilled in there and eventually they asked them if they wanted to join and they said yeah! Trav and Scoob have pure friendship and when I asked Scoob if Trav was the first person they met in the scene they told me that Trav was the one that kinda pushed them into the scene. Scoob definitely wouldn’t be in Cloud Cabin if it wasn’t for Trav. Trav is also the first person Scoob met and really connected with.

I’m always curious as to if artists listen to their music after they release it. I could see why artists don’t but I also understand why artists do. When I asked Scoob if they listened to their music after they released it they said yes and no. When it’s still unreleased Scoob listens to it but after it’s out they try not to because they're burnt out from the work on it and they notice tiny mistakes. I can’t say I completely relate because articles and songs are different, but while they are shared with friends before being posted I read them. After they are posted, I don’t read them because of all the work I put into that one article. This next question is one I have never asked actually. I asked Scoob if they have ever thought about a fandom name for fans. Scoob said not really and that they were bad with naming things. they would probably just call everyone broski or gamers. I asked Scoob if they ever wanted to tour and they do, they want to perform the silly little songs they have made in their bedroom for people that enjoy them. Scoob would love to tour all over the place especially the UK, they have a lot of friends in the UK namely soph and cherry. Scoob would find it cool to meet up with them and play live with them.

Every artist has a dream collab that they want to happen. For Scoob, those dream collabs are shinigami, tom delonge, and joe taylor. Especially shinigami, seeing that shinigami has been an inspiration of Scoob’s for a long time. Scoob also wants to do some friend collaborations with people in Cloud Cabin, Ashes, Trav, and joshuasageart.

Coming to an end, even though Scoob is probably the biggest weeb I know. Scoob is a very cool person and an amazing friend. Scoob makes some nice wholesome good morning tweets every day and a nice person to talk to. I send Scoob every article before I post them and I am very grateful I have been able to connect with Scoob. So please, take time to check out Scoob because they are an amazing artist, a phenomenal friend, and has a cute cat. Thank you Scoob for letting me write about you!

some thoughts

Before I start into this if sad things aren’t your thing. This might not be the article for you. I am not holding back, Mel is an amazing artist and I think this is something to touch on all the way. Some Thoughts is not your usual song. It’s not even your usual sad song. It’s unique and it’s conversation-like.

The song starts with, “what’s the meaning of it all?”. So let me ask, what is the meaning of it all. Sit back and think about this question for a bit. Don’t overthink it though. Did you think of an answer? Or are you stuck like me on still giving an answer on it all? This song will make you think. It might make you change what you thought of.

Let me get into a lyric that makes me think. The first lyric, “that one day my bones will crumble into dust laying 6 feet underground that will one day be a road letting semis pass through the town”. When we pass, there is no point in our bodies. They decompose. If you get yourself turned into ashes, it’s useless. Sitting in a box that you make your family carry around for the rest of their lives. What if they don’t want them though? We don’t think about all the lost loved ones in a cemetery unless our lost loved one is in there as we pass by.

The next lyric I want to get into is, “i see people sleeping on benches outside of a mcdonald’s while i order a big mac from the car I own looking away so I’m not bothered by the scene of someone in a poorer position that i’m in am i that fucking selfish?” Have you ever ignored the ones in need and felt guilt in your chest. You probably have. You probably have walked past a Salvation Army thing during Christmas time acting like you have nothing and then spend lots of money on gifts. You aren’t expected to give your money away, no but you feel that guilt. It eats at you. You feel selfish. If you have ever been in the sleeping on a bench situation or anything close to it though, you try to help. You understand.

The third lyric I want to talk about is, “the life of a stranger is just as important as yours
and neither your life or the strangers is important at all.” Let me ask you again, what’s the meaning of it all?

I got to talk to Mel about this song. I even told Mel why that McDonald’s line hits close to home. Let me tell you. I can’t tell you the meaning of it all. I am not the person for that. I will tell you though if you need some type of help. Reach out. Go to your friends and family. I can’t tell you the meaning of this song. Mel has even said, “I don’t want to pretend like I know everything or have the answers to these tough topics, I don’t, I just want to share my thoughts as adequately as possible.”

Coming to an end, this song is phenomenal. It’s a heavy song, I will be honest. I cried the first time I listened to it. I will say one thing though. I would love to hear more music like this. These spoken thoughts are something I think everyone should hear, hey maybe you have even thought some of these thoughts. Mel is an amazing artist. You should all check it out. Thank you Mel for letting me write on your song.

It’s been a little bit since I last posted a collective article. Just a little bit but when I say you should all get your reading glasses on and ready to read this one. You should be super hyped to read this goreset article. goreset is a collective with talented people and amazing factors to them. They are very chill and funny as well. I got to talk to the founders and almost every single member for this article.

goreset is a collective with 35 members that started with a different name. goreset has been around since February but the gain in attraction and members started last month. I got to talk to rouri and lucy who are the two founders of goreset. I will say, two amazing owners of a collective. By the time I’m done with this article, you will realize why they are more than just a collective. These two lovely people came up with this collective and like rouri said, “we’ve become super tight-knit and operate as a family more than a music collective.” i asked lucy how they would like to see goreset grow? lucy responded with, “idk i want goreset as a unit to be able to take over a small country.” honestly, such a really cool response i believe.

The first person I talked to about the article after the founders was quannnic! I started the conversation out with, “how were you brought into goreset?” quannnic said that, “I’ve know rouri for a while, but recently I’ve been talking to the people in goreset in their server and listening to their music. It’s really refreshing hearing new people in the scene that are super talented and I decided that I’d love to work with them.” I asked quannnic if goreset was like a family to them and quannnic responded with, “I’d say it’s quickly becoming one as everyone is like-minded and equally talented. They are very caring and supportive as well.” The next member I talked to was plxce! When I asked plxce how they were brought into goreset they responded with, “I got into goreset a while back as I knew some friends in the collective.” I asked them, “Is there anything you hope to see happen in the goreset future?” Plxce responded with, “Yeah I’d hope to see a full goreset tape and a goreset show.” Plxce did call gore-set a super chill collective!

The next person I talked with is maxime! I asked everyone how they were brought into goreset just as a fyi. Maxime said that they were one of the original members when goreset went under a different name. They’ve known rouri for a few years and he had asked me to join. The next question I asked Maxime was “what they would hope to see happen in the gore-set future?” Maxime said, “I’d hope eventually for everyone to be on the same level popularity-wise and for everyone to go far. I want to see every last member prosper and be something huge!” The next member I talked to was vaeo! Vaeo joined goreset in such an ironic way I kid you not. Vaeo said, “originally I was in this collective called Cavalry, and there was this dude who started joining vc one day and talking to me and doing dumb vc fuckshit. that person was rouri. he sent me in the middle of a car crash and a link to the gore-set server and that’s when I knew I had to work with him. we made silencee, and the next day joey asked me to join goreset. that’s the best decision I ever made.” Silencee does be a complete banger. I asked them if goreset was like a family to them and they said, “100% yes. Every single night I am in that server talking to Goose, Justin, Joey, Max, Chris, Nick, Satya, Evan, Cliff literally every single gore-set member you see in the roster, will be in the gore-set server at least once a day. I’d say these people 100% make me a better person every single day. We really mean it when we say that goreset is a family.” I’ll be honest, during my talk with everyone I talked to you can see the strong connection between them all. This is more than a collective to them.

Darius was the next member I talked to, Darius was brought in by seeing gore-set talking about merchandise in the future so Darius hit rouri up. Darius asked about working on a piece of clothing for goreset but ended up asking about working in goreset for all design. This is Darius’s first collective and Darius said that goreset is a super supportive and motivating place to be! Cliff was the next member I got to talk to. Cliff was brought into goreset because a few months ago they were producing beats for rouri a few months ago and after a bit rouri asked them if they wanted to join goreset. I’ve never met a collective that has multiple people in the creative field more than just music artists, goreset is really out there. I asked cliff what it was like being in a collective and Cliff said, “honestly it's great cause we're really just a bunch of friends who like doing shit together.”

I got the chance to talk to Rob and I’ll be honest, I forgot to ask Rob how they got into goreset. I asked Rob, what it was like being in a collective, and Rob’s response is exactly why. Rob said, “shit’s like a family fr. so happy I can be myself around my favorite people n make strides musically at the same time. been in a lot of collectives in the past that either turned out to be full of weirdos or just a waste of my time I’m glad I finally found the one for me.” When I asked Rob what they hope to see in the future of goreset they responded with, “overall, me and jstn have actually talked about sort of turning goreset into the new and improved faze clan in the future. we wanna make a content creation team that can inspire kids to do what they love n provide tons of entertainment. musically, I hope we can make a ton of insane boundary-breaking songs together as a group and continue to push the envelope, getting better and better every day. not to mention we got some fye ass merch ideas and I hope we can do shows altogether soon as well.” The next member is pelican! Pelican got into goreset because he was in cybercult, which was a collective rouri made on an old name before all of this. When goreset happened they invited pelican and he liked the vibe in the previous collective so he said yeah. Pelican hopes to work with everyone in the future as well as see group eps/albums.

I got to talk to Dylan and I’ll be honest we were off-topic at first and somehow went from goreset to wendy’s rick and morty drinks. Dylan if you did not know is in three different collectives. Dylan’s main collective is goreset though. When I talked to Dylan about being brought into goreset, he said, “I knew about rouri through a friend of mine niztopia. he streams on twitch, and sometimes he does music reviews, and vaeo and rouri would throw in submissions. so I knew about some of the artists through that, but I also was already aware of artists like polar, quannnic, and wubz. vaeo kinda just casually asked me; I had been showing them works in progress, and they were giving me a bunch of praise, and funny enough, I showed them a meme Detroit rap song and they asked me if I wanted in.” When I asked Dylan where he hopes to see goreset go in the future he responded with, “in the scene, I feel like people already know the name goreset pretty well. and with artists like quannnic, polar, and wubz backing and repping the name goreset, I see it continuing to be a staple collective of the genre. in the group, we have so much variety and versatility, we have one person for almost every type of music. doing shows and performing together as a group is something I hope to see and be a part of in the future!”

The next person is a goreset honorary, I’m serious. I got to talk to clearvision about how they joined goreset and they had the longest response so I’m going to break it down. Clearvision has been friends with maxime for six years and met rouri through maxime in 2020. The three of them have been trying to go up with others in their friend group together. When rouri and lucy made the collective that eventually dissolved into goreset they asked clearvision if they wanted to join. clearvision was feeling overwhelmed from seeing a lot of new collectives start-up and just die, so they were gonna wait until later to give an answer. They were still asked over time and time because they did chill in the server also they were called a goreset honorary. After a while, rouri asked them again and they said yes. It felt right with them to stay with their friends. They told goreset to wait a few days to announce it because they were taking a mental health break from socials. As clearvision said, “now here we are, badaboom badabing, clearvision is goresteppin.” The next person I talked to was bashflang but imma be honest, both of us have shit response game. I got to ask bashflang how they were into goreset and that’s it because our response game does be bad. bashflang said, “I was in goreset when we went by cybercult. rouri asked me if I wanted to be in a little collective with them about a year ago now I believe maybe longer.”

The next person was vayle, vayle was brought into goreset by rouri. vayle asked to be apart because most of the people in goreset, vayle was already close to. When I asked vayle what it was like to be in a collective, they said, “refreshing, to say the least, considering the groups I’ve been in it nice to have positive and innovative people around vs the normal scattered collective there always is.” the next person I talked to was polar. Polar was brought into goreset because they were friends with mostly everyone in there already and chilled in the discord almost every day so it kinda just happened from there. I asked them how it was being in goreset and they said, “it’s honestly super fun we’re all good friends and talk a lot in discord and just always chill together and make music.” When I asked them how would they like to see the growth of goreset they said, “I’m really excited to see where this all goes we have a really talented group of people and I think we’re capable of doing great things I see a bright future ahead for this entire group.” I did ask them about everyone in there not doing music and they said, “yea we have people who do all sorts of art just a big group of artists.”

The next person I talked to was goodbyex2002. They were brought into goreset after vaeo joined they would hang out in vc with them so much. Rouri gave them the role and just never took it off. They said it was very chill and it’s more of a good friend group than a collective when I asked them how it was being in goreset. The next person I talked to was guda, guda was brought into goreset after rouri bought a couple of beats like two or three months ago. They were cool with each other and one of the songs made like 3k in a week of something like that. Rouri liked what guda did so guda decided to text rouri about getting into goreset. When I asked guda, how would they like to see goreset grow they said, “as a family and as a collective, everyone is very talented and we will grow together :D” such a pog response. Wheaty, I love wheaty’s name. Not the point though! Wheaty was brought into goreset after last month wubz put them onto rouri. Wheaty joined the goreset discord server and they were dragged into private vc after they saw how active wheaty was. recently vaeo needed a visualizer for "walk walk walk walk" w/ ovrwrld and wheaty happened to be in vc when they recorded the footage for it, so wheaty offered to do the visualizer for them and goreset saw wheaty’s talent and decided wheaty would be a good fit for the team.

The next person is crayola, crayola is a really cool person who even does some editing for faze people. Crayola was brought into goreset after they came across rouri from when fresh ones park was reviewing music one night, he tweeted a link to the goreset server where they chilled with jstn and made some music with him, he really fw Crayola. The final person is swirl! When I asked swirl how they were brought into goreset they said, “well I’ve been making music for a little over a year now and when this whole music scene started taking off an online friend of mine, maxine was visiting my town and max was staying with rouri, I linked up with them and a few others at an air bnb n we all became good friends, recently I took a trip up to california with rouri and vaeo to play a show out there, the whole time we were there we were brainstorming collective ideas and stuff but rouri had already been working on goreset, at the time in our friend group we also had the collective c4lvary, but a lot of the members were shared between the two, so I figured it would just be simpler to be in one collective with all my friends!”

Coming to an end, goreset is more than just a collective. When I talked to rouri, he said, “most the time we aren’t focusing on music more so having each other’s back giving each other advice, etc.” I will say after talking to many of them personally you can see how they are a family for each other. They have been able to help each other through hardships and keep their spirits up and you don’t see that much anymore. They are a talented group of people who are completely on the way to the top. Don’t sleep on goreset. Thank you goreset for letting me write on your collective!
